With 9 given squares, Dragon trainer arranges his Dragons in the empty positions on those 9 squares. Only when a Dragon trainer reaches a minimum of 3 dragons or a maximum of 5 dragons appear on the field, the battle will start.

Because each dragon in Drapia possesses different strengths/weaknesses, attack/defense/support abilities, the Dragon trainer needs to calculate to optimize the formation to increase the possibility of victory.
